Reliving old times in Monnickendam
Time of start: 19.00 o’clock.
When you walk into the old city orphanage of Monnickendam, you enter nearly 6 centuries of history. It was originally built in 1454, and stood on an island at the coastline of Monnickendam, where it provided isolation for passengers and habitants affected by the plague. A century later, it changed function to provide orphanage to 40 children, and did so until 1940. Currently, it serves as beautiful working place for people developing their working experience.
On the 19th of July 2020, it will serve as décor for the opening of the European Championship of the FJ class! Peggy Wijtzes and Marleen Stuurman from Strandvier will serve a walking dinner and drinks to celebrate the start of this great event!
